This successful musical creator has earned 6 TONY nominations, but never won. There were 17 years in between the major flop solo effort and the subsequent major success solo effort.

Can you name this creator?

What was the flop?

What was the subsequent major success?

Wasn't Schwartz only the lyricist for Rags?

Yep. Charles Strouse wrote the music.

So would that be considered a solo effort?

Yes and Yes.

Yes, it was purposely easy.

Yes, it was a typo on my part.

RAGS was not a solo effort. Stouse wrote the music. WORKING was his previous solo effort and it was also a flopola, only 24 performances, closing 25 years before WICKED opened.
