What musical performer, who starred in two classic Broadway musicals, performed one of those roles in a foreign language?

Can you name her?

In what language other English did she perform one of the roles she created?

What was the name of the musical?

Who was her leading man in the English and in the foreign language version?

Lotte Lenya is very good, but not a correct answer.

3Penny was off-Broadway, at the Theatre deLys.

She was in the ORC of CABARET, but there was not another classic Broadway musical in which she originated a role.

Here' a hint...

The two classic musicals in which this performer starred were set overseas and thus not in the USA. One in a country in Europe and the other a bit further East.

One further hint...

The foreign language in which she recreated one of her roles is spoken in a country that is next to the one in which the musical takes place.

The French recording of MOLM is being released shortly on CD by DRG. It is a terrific recording.

One note on your response however, the leading man for MOLM was Richard Kiley on Broadway. (Michell is great, but he didn't originate the role.)

Jose, you asked for her leading man in the English version, not the Broadway version. She played it in London, too.
