Elizabeth Seal and Fred Gwynne.
EDIT: Gwynne wasn't the star. He's just the only other one I can think of. Also, didn't Elliott Gould have a small role in the show?

Magruder is wired tonight!
The composer of IRMA also wrote a number of populer songs mainly identified with a particular singer.
Who is the composer?
Name at least one of the composer's popular songs.
Who was the singer closely identified with the composer?
#10re: Broadway Puzzler #121
Posted: 4/15/05 at 10:53pmThe composer is Marguerite Monnot, who collaborated often with Piaf, though I don't know much about the rest of their work together.

Very good, Magruder.
One song, a very big hit in the 1950's had the English title of "The Poor People of Paris."
What was the last musical to play a Broadway theatre directed by the director of IRMA?
#12re: Broadway Puzzler #121
Posted: 4/15/05 at 11:00pmIrma la Douce was directed by Peter Brook, and I guess his last musical credit was his reduction of Carmen, that played the Vivian Beaumont.

Magruder, you are nearly 100% perfect!
Gosh darn.
The Police Inspector is not a son of France. Any other guesses you care to make?

Bob-Le-Hotu (Clive Revill) is the 6th son of France.
A strong argument could be made that Nestor is indeed also one. However since he is the male lead and does not sing the song "Sons of France" the judges have ruled that Nestor is not a correct answer. By the same token, since the Police Inspector does sing the number, and the fact that he is in on the take, the judges have ruled that the Police Inspector is accepatable.
Magruder and MEF, are both now neck in neck to claim the body of IRMA LA DOUCE.
Here's a breather question. Finihs this sentence, Irma La Douce "is a story..."
#21re: Broadway Puzzler #121
Posted: 4/16/05 at 12:47amYeah, the Inspector has a verse in "Sons of France," so I figured he fits in.

Going from faulty memory (and trying not to get confused with the opening of Chicago)
"This is a story of passion, bloodshed, desire and death. Everything that makes life worth living."
