This musical performer has 3 Broadway credits to his name. One flop sandwiched between two hits. In the hits he was a replacement and was replaced.
Who is he?
Can you name all three shows?

HINT:
This actor also has 2 off-Broadway credits: one intimate musical and one classic dramatic piece.

Posted: 4/4/04 at 3:41pmWell, given that Jose originally said three off-Broadway credits (since edited down to two) even somebody who actually knows what he's talking about, like Magruder, would be thrown off.

Norbert isn't a Wicked replacement...he's been in the show since San Francisco. And he was a swing in the original company of Rent...but that's who I thought of first too!
Good question, Jose. I dunno!

No, see, Jose's slippery wording says, "In the hits he was a replacement and was replaced."
He meant Taye replaced Norbert for a while. Imagine if teachers gave quizzes that they edited after they handed em out! Why bother?

Posted: 4/4/04 at 4:34pmWhat I believe Jose means is that Norbert (despite being a swing or understudy in Rent) was an eventual Roger replacement, and in Wicked was temporarily replaced by Taye Diggs. Norbert's two Off-Broadway credits are The Last Five Years (intimate musical) and Juno and the Paycock (classic drama), so I believe it all matches up.

You're on the nose Magruder. Why am I not surprised? ![]()
When I added the hint I orignally added his touring role of the Emcee in CABARET but decided that might make it too easy. So I deleted that part of the hint but didn't change the 3 to 2, until I caught that later. 3 is correct however as touring is off Broadway.
