Is anyone surprised at the odd behavior of today's broadway audiences? It dawned on me that whether it is a comedy or drama - I seem to be surrounded by passive people who don't clap; don't laugh; don't react... they just sit there and rattle their food-bags like they do in their living rooms or at the cinema. Am I off-base, or are Broadway audiences becoming a sea of displaced couch potatoes? Don't they realize that the theater is interactive and that the actors rely on FEEDBACK?

I haven't really noticed that at all... I still hear people laughing, clapping (even at inappropriate times), and you know in America standing ovations are basically required... and shame shame if they have food bags!
