Broadway Shows as of Spring 2014#1

Now before we all get too busy with the holidays, what do you guys think will be happening at some of the empty theaters this coming spring? We've got the Palace, Marquis, Golden, and Lawmaker. And will the the Broadway still be occupied by R&H's Cinderella? Does anybody know details if the London import, My Bodyguard, could be going into the Marquis or Palace? Will the Broadway (if empty) have Honeymoon In Vegas? Depending on this Thursday night notices on Little Miss Sunshine is Finn looking to go back to The Golden where he met with success with Falsetto Land? As far as straight plays, what's going to be happening at the Cort and the Lyceum? Oh, I just had a brain freeze, and although I wish that the limited run of the Glass Menagerie would still be running at the Booth, it probably will be a vacant house, so is that where the new play "The Realistic Joneses" would be placed? Will there be Broadway Transfers of Beth Henley's new play and also possibly this play is called "Fun Home"? I'm anxiously awaiting to hear any ideas you guys have out there.

Also, It looks like the Richard Rogers will have a fine show coming in from DC. I had a best friend in DC see the Saturday matinee of If Then. She said that Menzel, Rapp, and La Chance were super. It ran 3.5 hours, which was at least 30 minutes too long. There definitely needs to be a little bit more obvious clarification of how the story line works out. Great sets and lighting.

Thanks for any info you guys might provide!

Just as of today, I learned that "Big Fish" (which, as I understand from friends who saw it, was a real stinky fish), Strohman's vibrantly choreographed show, has posted its closing date. So, my Broadwayphiles, what do you think will enter into the vacant Neil Simon? Does it appear that Sting's new production, "The Last Ship," would be ready by spring or is he going to wait for a less competitive fall '14 season? Thanks for the only ONE person that has let this former New Yorker gain some insight into what is coming around the corner! I've got to start doing my holiday shopping and baking so I can't be checking my message board every day!

first of all, while I myself enjoyed big fish, the biggest issue is the choreography as it lacks any sense of stylization and really seems lazy on Stro's part.

now that thats out of the way, nothing has been confirmed yet but there is a HUGE push from fans to get fun home to fill the Booth theatre after Glass Menagerie leaves its extended run. There is general agreement that the show is groundbreaking an needs to be seen

Thanks for the response concerning Stros choreography! I had the pleasure to meet her when an acquaintance introduced me to her when she was with "Crazy for You." I have loved virtually everything that she has done, but my friends who saw "Fish" were spot-on with what you said. The Lippa score was the reason numerous friends left at intermission due to its flatness.
My copy of "The Adams Family" CD is hanging in the backyard to prevent the birds from eating the small garden.
If we're booking "Fun Home" into the Booth, that leaves me wondering where a hopeful Broadway transfer of "The Jacksonian" and the aforementioned "The Realistic Jones'" might go. Any ideas out there?

What do you guys think about Riedel's prediction of "King Kong" booking The Broadway instead of "The Foxwood?"

Has anybody heard that "Honeymoon in Vegas" is going from paper mill into the marquee?

Looking forward to lots more comments and answers!

According to today's Melbourne Age Newspaper King Kong is to close in Melbourne in February sand and announcement just before Christmas or in the New Year into which Broadway Theatre King Kong will open and considering the work that will have to be done it won't open before the 2014/2015 season. And I feel it is more a theatrical piece rather than a flat out Musical
