Hello BroadwayWorld chat boards,

I am a college student writing my thesis on Broadway Social Media. I have a few questions and I thought this board would be a great place to ask them: why do you guys like using the BroadwayWorld chat boards? If you're a frequent user, how often do you post on the boards?
If you have any questions for me or any comments you want to make, please don't hesitate to PM me!

Thanks!

I don't know if this counts as social media, per se. Does your social media thesis count participation/discussions between fans (and fans and shows) on Twitter and Facebook as well?

Yes, I am including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Snapchat. Anywhere Broadway people and fans are communicating. It's social media because it's a form of communication for many people. Thanks for asking!

I'm retired and a Broadway fan. I have a laptop on a rolling stand next to the couch, so I check it throughout the day - it's often left open on a tab on my browser. I also keep up on All That Chat, however I've been spending more time on BWW these days.

I use it to keep abreast of happenings on broadway and also in my hometown, SF. We travel to NY typically once a year, so I use the boards to keep abreast of what's coming in and whether the shows are likely to be something I want to see. I also follow their weekly box office grosses posts. Finally, as a fan, there are so many aspects about acting, stagecraft, and the BUSINESS of the business, that fascinate me.

And sometimes I just want to gush about a show I just saw or an OCR that I've re-fallen in love with.

I post a few times a week. As I mentioned earlier, I used spend more time on All That Chat, so my level here is still a few hundred short of "Broadway Legend" status, not that it matters a whit.
