Singing Back up,
I was there too! Bad back and all. She was lovely wasn't she?
So who were you in the chorus? I was there to see my friend Rita sing as well as seeing Susan. I also picked up a few items in the silent auction. Loved the open bar. Loved the cookies and Madelaines during intermission. I had way too much to drink.

And to think, I originally wasn't going to be here. And then, here I am. And I didn't whip out my camera and go!

Oh CYP -- I live vicariously through BWW, too!!!
Let's see... okay, first thing we need to talk about? Her hair. Susan has unbelievably perfect hair. I mean...never one strand out of place. Never. This makes me sort of jealous.
Now that that's out of the way...
The WCS -- what an awesome group of singers. =) *round of applause to Singingbackup* You guys blend wonderfully and are incredibly fun to watch onstage. Not to mention you chose awesome material ... YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT was so much fun -- I was dancing in my seat. =) WHERE IS LOVE was beautiful, as was SEASONS OF LOVE obviously, and CABARET! I enjoyed all the songs! But my favorite... MAKE THEM HEAR YOU from Ragtime. Ahhh! I had forgotten how gorgeous that song was...it's truly beautiful. Wish my school choir was smart enough to choose songs like these... instead we do a Grease medley?! eh.
As for Susan. She has incredible personality onstage, which just makes her that more endearing... here are the songs she performed (I have my program here and everything):
SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME - it was gorgeous, she really needs to record this one.
JOSHUA NOVECK - haha. Sooo cute. =) Reason I went online and ordered her ALL THAT & MORE cd as soon as I got home last night.
HOW LOVELY TO BE A WOMAN - Susan told a story about how when she was in BYE BYE BIRDIE...Tommy Tune told her that every night when she was onstage singing this song he was in his dressing room singing it along with her...after that she could never keep a straight face because she was always picturing Tommy Tune in his dressing room..in his underwear, singing "how lovely to be a woman..." =)
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MY PRINCE - I love this song. Yay for Jerry Herman. =)
STARS AND THE MOON - surprised to see this one on her songlist, but I should have known there would be at least one JRB song on there. =) I adore this and Susan does a very touching rendition!
TAYLOR THE LATTE BOY - of course it wouldn't have been a complete evening without this song...
OH, HOW I LOVED YOU - or this one...
THE LAST SONG - that's right, 3 Heisler/Goldrich songs all in a row!! What a treat!!!
MAYBE THIS TIME - I'm in love with Maybe This Time... it was fun to hear Susan sing it without the British accent too though. =)
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST medley - Basically she sang the first part of "Belle" ...and talked about how she broke both her arm and her foot during the run...and how little kids would talk to her during the show.. "psst, Belle!" "shh, I'm workin'!"
GIMME GIMME - most definitely the ultimate 11 o'clock number... although actually for us it was more like a 10 o'clock number, but those are fun too! She was MINDBLOWING.. boy can she belt. =) and hold a long note!
Annnnnnd at the end... after being given a huuuuge bouquet of flowers that was bigger than she is, she turned to the audience and waved regally like she was the Queen of England or Miss America on a parade float or something... haha. =)
So, that was a longwinded post. But there you have it. =) and there is still so much stuff I'm leaving out! It was just so fun!! I'm still on a high from last night... =)
NOW... enough procrastinating...back to homework!!

I wished she did Joshua Noveck at her Joe's Pub concert - that must have been hysterical. Same thing with Maybe This Time, she sings it so perfectly on her CD. If anyone has any pictures I'd love to see them too! Thanks again!

DAME -- if you don't mind me asking, who were you? Perhaps I saw you!
I was the short Asian girl...one of the very few TEENAGERS there... aha. =) I was most likely seen 99% of the time being trailed by my 12 year old sister...we spent some time lingering by the AVENUE Q posters.

I am tall, 6'2, dark hair, I was sitting in the center back with about 8 friends ( all of Frank and Ritas group if that helps). During the auction you could find me at either the tables or the bar. can you make me out now?
My pic is on my fan pics on this thing.
