Oh I wish I could see this. I never got to see it when it was in New York and it just seems like a lot of fun. Do you think it would ever have a Broadway revival?

Steven with Tami Tappan Damiano, our best musical theater actress.

I saw it Friday night and what an excellent production it is. The set is minimalist (hard to imagine how else it could be done in a Reprise/Encores style presentation, with the myriad set changes) but everything else is Broadway caliber. Stephen Bogardus, Burke Moses, Vicki Lewis, Tami Tappan Damiano, Marguerite MacIntyre, Ally Mauzey, Kevin Earley, and Stewart Pankin are perfection, and the ensemble is filled with performers who are accustomed to playing leading roles. The cast is that good!

And I'm going back on Friday for a second look!

"Tami Tappan Damiano" is really an unfortunate name isn't it? It's like half a degree away from "Konnie Kotex."

I actually did childrens theatre with Alli Mauzey and have worked with her sister and brother as well. She's a wonderful performer and human being. I didn't get a chance to see her in Hairspray, so I am definitely going to try to fit this show in my schedule, even if I have to buy the most expensive tickets available.
