In the grand tradition of Jimmy Fallon on Fridays, I'm writing my Broadway thank you notes. Share some of yours too!

Thank you, AMERICAN IDIOT, for proving that my life IS exciting and relevant enough to be a Broadway musical, even if it's not.

Thank you, Kander and Ebb, for writing SCOTTSBORO BOYS and helping me win a bet that "Bamboozled" would make a great musical.

Thank you, Team Starkid, for ruining my ability to watch Harry Potter without chuckling at every little thing.

Thank you, Lea Michele, for posing in GQ and helping me realize that I am not attracted to EVERY SINGLE Jewish girl I meet.

And, thank you, Spiderman, for convincing me that a Watchmen musical is not only not far away, but is not the worst or most cost-inefficient idea in the world.

Thank you Bernadette Peters for returning to Broadway and reminding me why I fell in love with the theatre.

Thank you Sherie Rene Scott for giving us a little piece of you heart in Everyday Rapture and the most phenomenal performance I've seen in years.

Thank you Barbara Cook for your looks of surprise and disgust when Catherine Zeta Jones won Sherie Rene Scott's TONY.

Thank you PBS for preserving the timeless South Pacific.

Thank you Norm Lewis for giving us a stirring rendition of Being Alive in Sondheim on Sondheim.

Thank you Patti LuPone for your memoirs, I love you more everyday.

Thank you, Kelli O'Hara, for returning to South Pacific so I could see you at the closing performance. Thank you also for performing in so many other engagements this fall. You've been building me into a huge fan. (Ditto, barbie, on PBS South Pacific).

Thank you, Next to Normal, for giving me a show to bring every friend or family member to when they come visit. And thank you for being moving enough to keep my crying and touched every time I see the show!

Thank you, Brief Encounter and Encores' Bells Are Ringing, for showing me what it would be like to go out to the theater back in the Golden Age (when I should have been growing up.)

Thank the Lord that I am going through my requisite Stephen Sondheim phase the same year that he turns 80 and is celebrated by everyone, giving me wonderful opportunities to learn more!

Thank you, student rushes, lottos, TDF and Broadwaybox for allowing me to see oh so many shows this year.

Thank you, City Center, for giving me the chance to learn about so many amazing musicals through the Encores series.

Thank you, Stephen Sondheim, for existing. You've written so many beautiful shows that leave me in awe.

Thank you, Patti LuPone, for continuing to entertain me in both your onstage and offstage life. Your unmatched vocal prowess and candor will keep me forever your fan.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Thank you to Lily Rabe for showing such grace and strength. And for sharing such a spellbinding performance.

And, thanks to Al Pacino for bringing MERCHANT OF VENICE to such moving and riveting life.

Thank you to Bobby Steggert who took my breath away in two productions this year: RAGTIME and YANK.

Thank you to the short-lived joy of the FINIAN'S RAINBOW revival. I loved being able to revisit those wonderful songs.

Thank you to Kelli O'Hara who I just continue to adore - for her magnificent talent and beautiful spirit.

I echo all of the thanks above - especially for the Great Performances broadcasts that bring theatrical gems into our homes.

And, thanks to my friends and family who share my love of live theatre...

"Thank you to the short-lived joy of the FINIAN'S RAINBOW revival. I loved being able to revisit those wonderful songs."

"Ah yes, thanks for reminding me that I am also quite thankful for Finian's Rainbow."

Amen. I'm thankful for the cuteness of Finian's Rainbow too. I wanted to see it so badly but obviously I missed out on seeing it. But I saw the clips and the commercial for the show and they are all adorable!

I'm also thankful for Kate Baldwin because she is such an inspiration to me. Her voice comforts me when I'm going through drama in my life. She is just such an amazing actress and she helped me become a better singer.

And thank you Christopher Fitzgerald for making me laugh. After my grandfather passed away in 2003, I felt like there was nothing to stop me from being sad. So this year and last year I saw clips from Finian's and other things like his performance on the Sirius show with Seth Rudetsky on Youtube and he was just so adorable. Seriously adorable. He should win a Tony!

Also thanks to Sutton Foster for her talent and charisma.

And thank you to Great Performances, because it makes me smile.

And thank you Broadway for making me smile. :o)

Thank you, RAGTIME for such a theatrical blow to the soul and breaking my heart at the closing performance back in January.

Thank you, AMERICAN IDIOT for fusing one of my favorite albums and favorite art form so seamlessly and beautifully.

Thank you, Bernadette Peters for such a beautiful performance and for acknowledging me on your opening night.

Thank you, Laura Benanti, for your hilarious turn as Candela in WOMEN ON THE VERGE and being the nicest, most gracious star I've ever had the good fortune to meet.

Thank you, Stephen Sondheim for the masterpiece that is SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE.
