In a playbill today there is an article about this special that will be featured on PBS Oct 19,20,21. It will be a 6 part 6 hour series hosted by Julie Andrews. "Undoubtedly the best documentary ever done on the American Musical". Highlights will include newly restored Ziegfeld Follies footage, Fanny Brice singing "My Man", rare footage of Ethel Merman rehearsing Gypsy, home movies of the original production of Chicago, Jonathan Larson working as a waiter before Rent, and behind the scenes Wicked footage and rehearsals. There will also be interviews of broadway stars past and present. Sounds fabulous! I can't wait! "For anyone who loves Broadway musicals, this is a must-see event"
