What Broadway star appeared in a movie about a historical figure & also appeared in a musical stage version of this party's life?

Well, I'm not sure if the "...party's life" means a musical just about THAT figure, but James Barbour played Thomas Jefferson in the American Experience movie "John and Abigail Adams", and didn't he also play him in "1776"...?

I believe BB2 meant that there are CURRENTLY three shows on Broadway beginning with A...

Here is a hint: The stage musical need not have actually made it to broadway & may have folded out of town.

Another hint: The show & movie do not have to be current & can be decades old.
