I believe that is Jim Borstlemann (of The Producers and Chicago) sitting behind Marc and futzing with his sunglasses.
I'd recognize Jim anywhere. :)

Posted: 6/18/05 at 7:22pmI watched it when it was at Bryant Park on Sunday and I must say that besides the performances by Chester what's his name from Hairspray and Cheyenne Jackson the rest of the show was kind of boring. Their two numbers were the only ones I really thought were outstanding.

I feel bad for them. I was there that night and left.
It was 99 and 100 percent humidity.
Imagine singing in that in a tux.
Take a look at the band they are soaked in sweat.

Posted: 6/18/05 at 7:38pmI was there last Sunday as well...for the life of me I cant figure out why they are doing them in THIS order, they have strung some most of the boring performances together. Raul, Kudish, Jackson, and Wopat were the highlights and yes, Fogler sounded bad in person too. Cerveris did a nice Kiss of the Spider Woman...but for me Kudish was the highlight. I missed the first 5 mins of this production, hope I didnt miss him.

I can't argue with the song choices here - but these performances for the most part leave much to be desired. Could it be because they're not used to performing outside in the heat?
What show was the song Garber sang from? It's the only one so far I can't place...

It wasn't on here in Ohio.
Will this be available online anywhere, like cbs.com or something?

No, they didn't interview Raul.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was POed about the country singer! The concert was titled "Broadway Under the Stars" and took place in New York City... so, naturally, they get a country singer. Argh.

Aside from the country singer (don't know his name) being abyssmal, I didn't think the rest did THAT bad considering that the temperature in NYC was in the 80's and the humidity was close to 100 per cent. Terrible conditions for an outdoor show.
Nobody was at their best, but at least CBS broadcast something BROADWAY even if it was on at 7:00 on a Saturday night.
