Broadway Voice Lessons on Skype during COVID19

Hi everyone!

 

This is my first post here! I was elated to see that so many performers are offering lessons via Skype/Facetime during this time! I really love the fact that some of them are also lowering their prices during this time, as a mom of two kids it gives me so much joy to see that the community has come together during this time.

My kids love Broadway and have really enjoyed taking lessons from quite a few performers.  It also helps them practice since they aren't getting that time in school

I saw something today and it really confused me.. my daughter really wanted to take a lesson with Caissie Levy and when I went to her site last week it said "$45 minute sessions for $100" but today when I went to the site to finally book it, it said "$45 minute sessions for $150".  I'm in no way trying to belittle Caissie, I think it's nice she's donating some of the proceeds to the Actors Fund.  I am just confused as to why she upped her prices in a week, especially during this time when everyone is struggling.

Does anyone know why she upped the price?

I’m guessing, as with most things, it has to do with supply and demand. Also, higher price might separate those who want a serious voice lesson from those who want to FaceTime with a broadway star.
