I am currently reading Charmian Carr's (Liesl in the Sound of Music film) memoir Forever Liesl and it is absolutely delightful. She writes about making the film as well as what she is doing now and how the film has affected everything. She also has stories before every chapter from fans about how the film has effected them as love as other nice stories. If you love the film it is a must read.

Ethan Mordden's Rodgers and Hammerstein book has good King and I information. Scott Miller's "Deconstructing Harold Hill" has a detailed chapter on the show, as well.

Mordden's "The Happiest Corpse I've Ever Seen" has a couple pages on Side Show. It's a great book about musical theatre 80's-Present. All of his books are superb, though. Miller's books are excellent, too. Though I didn't much care for his recent about rock musicals.

Peter Filicia has two great books too: "Broadway Musicals: The Biggest Hit and Flop of 1959-2009" and Broadway MVP's: 1960-2010" that I consult often.

The Hairpray: The Roots book is pretty to look at, but is nothing more than a coffee table book. There's lots of pictures/design sketches and the script is included, if that's of interest to you.
