He is such a cutie! I totally understood why those rabid Pimpernel fans got so worked up over him :) And that was such a great Broadway debut, no?

Yes, Carrie. That was his debut (and his only Broadway credit until now)... I'm surprised more people aren't excited about this. I think they'll all be BUZZing about him once the show starts previews.

As a die hard Pimpy...I can say that I am thrilled for DS. He is by far one of the nicest guys around...even though waiting for him post show can take days!!!!! (Just kidding Doug!) Sills time? Whats that? HA!

Why would he turn down KISS ME KATE and now he accepts a one song supporting role? I also fear the role will be too small for him. What will he do if they decide to replace Howard McGillin in BOUNCE prior to NY and he is commited to LITTLE SHOP? Do you suppose they are going to "Chita" this role for him and give him a big Kathleen Marshall dance routine in the middle of the number? (BTW, I am a big fan of Chita and Doug. I just don't know if this is a good fit.)

If done as originally written The Dentist also plays all the soloists in 'Meek Shall Inherit' which allows them some fun in doing quick changes and multiple roles in a short period of time.

I saw Douglas in the Boston Pops Rodgers/Hammerstein concert on TV, and he was fine. What I'm trying to say is, aren't there better choices for the dentist? Mark Kudisch?

Kudisch, one of my other favorites...is going to be starting The Truth About Men on August 6th off-bway. So even if he had been thought of, I doubt he would have left this new show for it. He happens to be extremely excited about this new show...as are those of us who loved him and Ron Bohmer in SP3.0!
