So I know I've posted about this before but my family is planning on buying tickets for these shows this week and I was looking for some help. Our season is a 5 show package which includes, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, ONCE, BLUE MAN GROUP, FLASHDANCE, AND PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. There are also 5 extras, WE WILL ROCK YOU, A CHRISTMAS STORY, I LOVE LUCY, AMERICAN IDIOT, AND BOOK OF MORMON. I already have tickets to AMERICAN IDIOT. And I was wondering what people think I should see. If we buy the package and sell a few that's fine but I'm really wondering are there any must see's, any I should skip? Any help would be great and if people say I should skip FLASHDANCE I wont because I know someone in the cast and definetly wanna see them perform. Any thoughts would really help!
Definitely see A CHRISTMAS STORY. It was one of the best musicals of the season. Very fun, and enjoyable for all.
ONCE and THE BOOK OF MORMON are good.
MDQ, AMERICAN IDIOT, WE WILL ROCK YOU, and FLASHDANCE will be hit or miss, depending on your taste.
I LOVE LUCY will be exciting if you're a true fan.
BLUE MAN GROUP is worth going to once if you've never seen then.
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is a snoozefest, in my opinion.
Thanks for the help! Now if I don't like the A CHRISTMAS STORY movie would I like the Musical?
Yes. The musical is different enough from the movie. It is a LOT from the movie, but it holds its own as an independent adaptation.
I can't believe Broadway in Boston is selling BLUE MAN GROUP, which has played Boston for more than 20 years on Charles Street, as part of their package. Something must have fallen through, or else that is really terrible planning.
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET - This was honestly one of the biggest snoozefests I have ever sat through. I walked out. Unless this is your type of music, skip it.
ONCE - Haven't seen it. Seeing the tour next year.
BLUE MAN GROUP - It's a fun show. Nothing incredible, but it's fun.
FLASHDANCE - Quite possibly the biggest piece of trash I have ever seen. So unbelievably bad in every way that it is wildly entertaining. If you can get a cheap seat, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - One of my favorite shows, so I am very curious about this new tour.
WE WILL ROCK YOU - I know nothing about this.
A CHRISTMAS STORY - Looks like a fun Christmas show, but haven't seen it.
I LOVE LUCY - I guess if you like the TV show check it out. Seems like it could up being another Happy Days the Musical (which was really bad).
AMERICAN IDIOT - Love this show. Very unique, breathtaking, and just beautiful. Saw it three times in one week.
BOOK OF MORMON - SUCH a fun show. Saw it on Broadway, and would definitely recommend it.

I thought the same thing. If I'm buying season tickets, I wouldn't want one of Boston's resident shows to be part of the package. Not right, in my opinion.
Boston has a lackluster upcoming season; I'm not too thrilled. Whoever arranges the tours has extremely poor planning this season.
bwayphreak234: Thanks for the thoughts! I do like MDQ's music. I will say its not my favorite but I do like it. I'm actually very excited for this show. I'm actually not excited for FLASHDANCE but like I said I know someone in it so I want to see them.
milliedillmount: I agree. Not a great season but I'm still excited for it! This past season I don't think can be beat(War Horse, Memphis, Sister Act, Jersey Boys, Book of Mormon, and Wicked). Thanks for helping everyone! Any more suggestions would be great!

I agree with bwayphreak about Flashdance, worst musical I've ever sat through.
AMERICAN IDIOT- Highly recommend this one. Even if you're not a Green Day fan it's an incredible production.
MDQ- I personally don't like it.
BOOK OF MORMON- Hilarious and touching story. One of the best shows I've seen.
ONCE- Beautiful show, I say go see it.
I also forgot to mention I've seen Book of Mormon. It was very good, although I do think it is overrated but still very good. I think instead of buying full tickets I'd just try the lottery and if I win I win and if I don't I don't. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and if anyone has any more thoughts on WE WILL ROCK YOU or I LOVE LUCY that would be great!

Must see Book of Mormon and a Christmas Story. Both are brilliant, very different, but brilliant.
