Looks like my next visit to NYC in a couple of weeks is going to coincide with Broadway on Broadway. I'd love to go. Who has been to this before and who is going this year? Do you have any suggestions about when to arrive, best place to view, etc.? I'm excited about seeing this in person for the first time!

According to the website, the performances will include Little Shop, Boy From Oz, Taboo, and Wicked!

It starts at 11:30. You have to get there real early. They have bleacher seats but they are taken very early. It is a lot of fun and I have been there every year. I always wind up standing. It only runs for a little over an hour or so. The performers are usually the stars of the show. Sometimes, the understudy fills in. re: Broadway on Broadway Enjoy

What time do you have to get there to sit?

They did show it on TV here in Chicago last year, which really surprised me. It was great to see snippets of shows like Amour and Boys From Syracuse, along with the blockbusters.

I'm going to try to get there by around 10 this year. Should I go even earlier?

There is a site for this BroadwayonBroadway. Many people attend. I would stay you would have to be there about 7:00 in the morning to get a seat. They have bleacher seats but they are always filled early. It is going to be televised the following Tuesday on Channel 4.

Was it last year or the year before when they tried streaming the event right on line? I don't know if it was just my computer, but it was mighty hard to watch, and the audio kept cutting out. Nice try, though!

I'll be there if it doesnt look like its going to pour like it did last year. It did start raining at the end I remember and I was glad I didnt go, umbrellas wouldve made it harder to see. I had a blast the year before that though.
