Broadway's booming summer - what's lacking?

I just glanced at the article in today's NY Times about the booming burst of business on Broadway at the start of the new season. Six musicals at 100% capacity: BEE, LION, PHANTOM, SPAM, WICKED and MAMAMIA.

It struck me that PHANTOM is the closest one to an adult musical.

Am I surprised that PIAZZA is not there? No.

Am I surprised that CAROLINE, one of the most musically innovated musicals in years, didn't make it to this summer? No.
