Broadway show web sites that rarely get updated...

Don't they just annoy you?? I mean, every time I go to sweeneytoddonbroadway.com, the videos section is still unclickable, and they never have current cast photos on avenueq.com.

You have to realize though...that probably is their last concern. The majority of the people who go to the websites are either people who have already seen the show or people like us who will definitely see it.

Wicked is rarely updated. Several months into Ben Vereen's run, they had pictures of George Hearn up.

Ewww, this is my pet peeve too. Especially with actors who set up nice sites and then NEVER update them. I have a feeling they get friends to set up the sites and then just kinda forget about it. I wrote Brian Stokes Mitchell and offered to be his web master, but he never wrote back. Of course, he never wrote back when I offered to be his slave (non-web) either. KIDDING!

Web trivia: Chuck Wagner has a nice message board and will answer questions that fans post. Brent Barrett will answer your email.

I actually think that Wicked has one of the best websites,
Now Chicago's is never updated, and somebody, please update Charlotte d'Amboise's bio, it has been the same for the last 9 times she has been in Chicago!

"Chicago" is another site that bugs the crap out of me, especially the bio of Kander and Ebb which doesn't even mention Fred Ebb's untimely death.

It should not be this way though, the internet is a major marketing tool for movies and all kinds of products. With a little more thought and some well made sites the shows could get considerable support from the web. If they added site liks and specific, interesting content to the advertizing it could be a major boom.

Sondheim.com is the "theater related" site that gets to me, it still says "ASSASSINS may be coming to broadway!"
