re: BroadwayWorld Presents RENT: An Inside Look!

What did everyone think of Idina's comment about the message boards? Part of me wants to say that she really should expect criticism, but part of me knows that there really was a great deal of hate thrown at her on this and other sites.

There's a big difference between constructive criticism on someone's art and personal, hurtful, often illegitimate slams. I think what she said is really important.

Yeah, I definitely agree with what she said. When people were talking about the cast reading the boards months ago, I couldn't help but hope Idina wasn't checking them out. Some people are just jerks that think what they say can't effect anyone.

I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I want to give Idina a HUG...

[edit] Mr. Pascal needs to come on BWW...but he doesn't need to fight the 12 y/o's. I don't blame him for his comments. Some people are just scary--why go beyond your comfort zone.

Haha...Tracie reacted really similarly when I asked Anthony about something in relation to BWW during the Virgin Megastore signing which somehow worked Tracie into our little awkward convo.

OH MY GOD, that made my day. And yes, I agree with Idina. A few months ago people were bashing her left and right. After reading comments like those, I wouldn't want to read anymore either. But, I love the whole cast.

Great video. I really enjoy it when interviewers go beyond the typical questions that have been asked a million times - makes for a much more interesting and honest response from the interviewees. Idina and Adam's comments about the nature of Internet fanbases were right on.

re: BroadwayWorld Presents RENT: An Inside Look!

Adam was definitely very candid (as they all were). It's easy for younger people (or for that matter people in general) to think that just because someone recognizes them at the stage door, that doesn't make them a "buddy".

But let's not turn this thread into a conversation about that.

Thanks again to those who are enjoying it... More video features coming soon...

Craig's right, the topic of this thread shouldn't be about what they said. It should be about the AMAZING video editing re: BroadwayWorld Presents RENT: An Inside Look!

orange.. no.. that's not what I meant LOL.. I just meant that we don't have to get into that line of conversation since it runs rampant elsewhere in threads. But far be it from me to limit the conversation.. discuss at will

re: BroadwayWorld Presents RENT: An Inside Look!

I'm just kidding. I don't think we need to get into that discussion again either, there's too much good stuff in the interview to focus just on that.

Since I'm watching it again, I'm just wondering who's idea it was to have the actors being interviewed in groups of 2. I like it, I just haven't seen it done very often.

That's the way the press junket was set up. And I agree - it's always nice to have/see people play off each other. Especially for a film like this.

Nice job on editing Craig, and of course credit to Mr. Dale for his line of questions. Though it still seems a little bit surreal that this is actually only four days away from being a reality.

I think unlike Phantom or Chicago there's another element to this release, beyond a musical making it film. Since the heart of the story is about community and creating a family out of friendship it resonates on totally different levels in the age of the internet where communities become dysfunctional families every day. I think BWW is among those and I mean that in a positive way. Whether people love or hate this movie, I don't think I've seen so many people really attach and invest themselves so emotionally in its outcome and that's sort of refreshing. Nice to see the video hit on it from the actor's perspective.

I thought both Adam and Idina were very honest about their experiences.
