From today's email, I think only the 4th is 'new' information? Or information we could have guessed from the message boards, but this is from Jeffrey Richards producer office.
- Paddington is eyeing Broadway for 2027, but no theatre has been confirmed. SFP has said the transfer is basically happening, but they are still looking at the economics of Broadway. It has momentum after winning seven Olivier Awards, including Best Musical.
- Dreamgirls is officially circling Broadway again, and this one could be the big fall event if it lands with the right cast and the right house. An all-new Broadway production directed by Camille A. Brown is announced for fall 2026, though no theatre is listed yet.
- Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell are bringing Much Ado About Nothing to Broadway, which means the Jamie Lloyd celebrity Shakespeare pipeline is still very much open.
The production is announced for fall 2026 after premiering in London in spring 2025. - The Off-Broadway transfer pipeline is getting spicy.
MEXODUS, fresh off a major awards run, feels like the kind of show Broadway loves to “discover” after everyone downtown has already discovered it. Beau the Musical has already moved uptown once, and its actor-musician, pop-country, queer-coming-of-age energy gives it real commercial shape. And over at Classic Stage, Ethan Slater’s Marcel on the Train may be the sleeper to watch: a starry, serious, physical-theatre-driven new play about Marcel Marceau’s resistance work during World War II.
