Brooklyn Question#0

Ok, please don't flame or anything... but is there a place to find out the basic plot of Brooklyn? I just feel sort of out of the loop with all the hype. Thanks!

if you sign up for the Brooklyn message board someone who saw the show in Denver posted there.

Also, I put what was in the playbill in my livejournal.

Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

The story begins in Paris in 1969, when an American composer-folksinger named Taylor falls in love with a French singer-dancer named Faith. Taylor is drafted and departs for Vietnam, unaware that he is leaving Faith pregnant. She gives birth to a daughter, Brooklyn, named after Taylor's place of birth. When Taylor fails to return, a heartbroken Faith commits suicide, leaving Brooklyn to be raised in an orphanage.

Now a young woman and armed only with the remnant of a song that he wrote for her mother, Brooklyn goes off to America to search for her father. Brooklyn becomes a singing sensation and comes into conflict with an established diva named Paradice. The two engage in an "American Idol"-like vocal contest that is said to include audience participation.

Hey, I found out a lot about the show just through the general website, www.brooklynthemusical.com, which is a really cool site by the way. I just bought my tickets 5 minutes ago for October 9th, so I'm so excited!
