You know... when ya think of it that way..
If you are paying a full-price ticket for $95..
It's like you are paying $1.03 for every minute in Brooklyn!

That (is it ATC) review sounds...so honest. Good points and bad points alike are pointed out.

Not OMG LYKE EDEN WAS SOOO COOL AND SHE SANG!

I want some honest review- if you think that it's worship-worthy, let us know why. And no 'just because's.

Yes! That's what i'm looking for! A honest review!
Hey bronxboundexpress, maybe Playbill meant that the show feels like it's 1,821 minutes.

Just kidding. I'm looking forward to seeing it on the 4th.

so I am new at this, but I have to say that I am looking forward to seeing this show! I was excited to see a true review via "all that chat". I hope this show can work out some of the kinks. Would love to see this show survive
lol im so glad theres no intermission. i think intermissions suck and are a waste of time and only benefit people who cant sit in a chair for an hour and a half even though they see movies longer than that straight through.
Hey, it worked for one of the best shows ever - A Chorus Line.
Intermissions aren't just for the theatergoers, you know.

My attempt at writing a review (which, I need to start doing if my hopes of being a theatre critic ever want to pan out. Don't judge this as a piece of journalism, though.)

The first 15 minutes of the show, aside from the songs I found myself rolling my eyes. A lot. The music was great and I found myself loving the set and the visuals. (Whoever said the costumes were amazing, I agree completely...the costumes were absolutely brill.) After about 6 or 7 of the songs, I didn't notice standing ovations (except for one) but they each stopped the show for a good 2 minutes.

The acting I felt was strong on all the actors' parts (as there were only 5 people in the cast).

My only problem with Brooklyn is that the story many of the times was trite and confusing. However, it wasn't as predictable as one may expect. The book didn't aid matters much, but I wouldn't say that the book was the sole reason for how it came across, the concept is just a little underdeveloped in parts.

Anyway -- I think that overall it was a very good and the music alone is worth ticket price (especially if you get SRO).

Intermission: Lack of intermission did not bother me, but around me it seems that it bothered alot of people and the constant coming and going detracted from the show for me. I personally like plays without an intermission as it doesn't disrupt the story (okay, I know what I'm saying...it just isn't coming out), especially if the show isn't insanely long (i.e. Les Miz sans intermission would be unbearable.)
