Bryant Park Show

Bryant Park Show#1

Posted: 7/17/09 at 10:55am

I again attended the show at Bryant Park. The performances were lovely, especially "Little Mermaid"; too bad it will soon close. I was thrilled to see Allison Janney who I remember from "West Wing" perform. Often, they use understudies. Who was the singer from "Pure Country" who was reading the lyrics from a book? Was that part of her act or she couldn't remember the words? It was unclear. Again, I had problems with folks sitting near me. I had 3 grown women, 1 with a baby carriage, who spoke Spanish in loud voices throughout the show as well as during the dress rehearsal. It ruined the show for me. I was unable to move away as I was "boxed-in. One of the ladies even removed her shoes and socks and placed her feet up on a chair. Some people are so uncouth and have no consideration.

In "The Little Mermaid", the kid who performed looked familiar. Has he performed at the Park before? I thought they did a great job on "She's in Love". Too bad it's closing.

Public park. I'd take my shoes off too with the weather that nice.

Yes removing ones shoes is cozy but this is a public place, and would you want to smell those feet? People wanted to open umbrellas too in that heat but it spoils the view for those seated in back. Sometimes you must forego comfort if it hurts others.
