I knew Bryce Dallas Howard who is in The Village sounded really familiar to me. Other than the fact that she is the daughter of Ron Howard I finally figured out why that name was ringing a bell. She is one of the singers on the A Tale of Two Cities-Concept Recording. Maybe I am incredibly dense here, but does she have any other theatrical credits? I know she was in Tartuffe, but has she been in any musicals not listed on IBDB? I am also going to repost the article from Playbill on A tale of Two Cities because it was a really good article and I don't think anyone saw it when I posted it before. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/playbill/20040722/en_playbill/87448

Forget the musicals.

I believe I've seen her in her only notable NY credits. She played Rosalind in "As You Like It" at the Public last season in a youthful and energetic (if a bit amateurish) production in which there were no real standouts acting-wise (I do certainly remember her and she was fine, but she was not distinguished in any way).

She also played the daughter in the dual Alan Ayckbourn comedies "House" and "Garden" two seasons ago at MTC. Again, she was just fine (the role didn't call for much more). Her British accent was a bit shaky as I recall, but she didn't embarass herself and handled the role's demands well.

She was a pretty and competent enough actress, fresh from acting school. She has talent, but then again, so do hundreds of others, and were she not Ron Howard's daughter now starring in the number one movie in the country (wonder how that happened), I doubt I'd be typing this right now.
