How long did 'Buddy-The Musical' run at the Shubert when it transferd from London. I know it was surprisingly short compared to the West Ends 11 year run. It re-opens 2mrw and has been extended until next June BEORE it even opens. Any help? Did you see it on Broadway?

This was the first musical I ever saw and it was back in 1995 at the Victoria Palace in London. GREAT SHOW! Would love to see it again, maybe back on Broadway!

I just performed in Buddy here in NJ in June-July. It was the most fun I've ever had on stage, and the audience ate it up every night. We got so much positive feedback. I'm not surprised it ran for so long in London.

Although I guess the English have a deeper love for Mr. Holly than we do since it ran for so long over there and so short here on Broadway.

But he's yours! Not ours! Thats why i didnt understand its short NY run.
Being an ex-performer i can imagine it being a fun show to do. Good on you.

I saw it and thought it was good. I just looked at IBDB and see that Jill Hennesey was in it- I wonder if its the same Jill from Crossing Jordan???!!!

I love this show.. I've done it multiple times.. I think the problem with the Bway show.. is that it was really one of the first of its kind.. of course now we have.. Mamma Mia, Good Vibrations, Times they are a Changin.. etc.. BUDDY was the fisrt..

But its a great show.. and is a must see if you're in London.

The weird thing about BUDDY is some buddy holly songs.. were a hit in London but not the states.. sooo some songs are different in the shows..

Heartbeat.. major hit in London.. not so much here.. It gets replaced a lot with It's So Easy.. a hit here.. and not in UK

99% of DVD players in the Uk for the last few years are sold playing both systems. Youve surprised me.
