Mama Margaret gets David Burnham as her new son-in-law on Mother's Day as David Burnham goes on for Aaron Lazar in the role of Fabrizio in "The Light in the Piazza", 3 pm, Sunday May 14th...for those who want to catch him in the role. (Note : he also plays Fabrizio on June 17th and 18th).
I saw David do Fabrizio in April of last year. He's FANTASTIC!!!!!! For the life of me, I don't understand why he wasn't offered the role when MM left???

I've seen Piazza three times- all with different Fabrizios.
The first time I saw it, first performance after the Tony Awards, Fabrizio was David Burnham- he was splendid. Second time was a few weeks before Matthew Morrison left- he is indeed talented. Third time was with Aaron Lazar, a couple of weeks after he assumed the role- he was impressive.
The point? Of all the three Fabrizios I've seen, I find David Burnham to be the most stunning- then Aaron, then Matthew. And that doesn't Matthew was the worst or what. It just depended on the day I saw them or something.
And I haven't seen Piazza in a while- I'd love to see it again.

I read that David wasn't Matt's replacement because he would have looked like Kelli's son (not that Kelli looks old, but David looks so young). So, they cast the older looking Aaron... but now they are stuck with Clara looking much too young for him.

Does anyone know if Jennifer Hughes has any dates as Clara?
I'd love to catch her - or really anyone else - as Clara sometime.
PS - Can we get Diane Sutherland on as Margaret before the show closes? Just for fun.

andyf you are so O.T.
I'm much more interested to know whether David Burnham has a hot backstage crush on his Katie Clara!

I think Aaron Lazar is much more attractive than David Burnham. Something about David's features seems odd to me; I can't put my finger on it, though.

Jennifer Hughes is wonderful as Clara...a different approach somewhere between Kelli and Katie. Have been blown away by her performance.
Read the current Playbill Yearbook (next edition for the current year will be out in early summer) --- the "Piazza" coverage was written by Burnham. But no clues about hot backstage crushes.
I wish David will be Fabrizio on the tour. I don't think Aaron will be as he wants to go into film/TV after Piazza.
if you read the Novella Fab is spose to be a few years younger than Clara
Burnham is my fav!

A BIG shout-out to David for his performances this weekend as Fabrizio, to Joseph Siravo who went on as Signor Naccarelli for Chris Sarandon and did a spectacular job, to new cast member Adam Overett who took over Burnham's regular track this weekend, and to the whole cast which gave simply EXCEPTIONAL performances this weekend.
Aaron is back Tuesday night.
I guarantee you David has not had a "crush" on ANY of his Claras!

I can also guarantee that Burnham does not have a crush on his Clara's.
Though it would make for a rather interesting story.
