Okay listen up about CIVIL WAR. Most poeple do not understand it. It is NOT a show. It is NOT a musical. I never worked because people were expecting it to be a musical is it was not. I quote Frank WIlhorn. It is a "concept concert" for the theatre with no book and simply a tapestry of various documents, events, letters, and passions of the war through pop music. That is all. As far as music, CIVIL WAR is an extremely outstanding score but that it pretty much it. The idea is for people to enjoy the music and make their own images in their head about that time in our history. Country pop with a CIVIL WAR background is a clever idea and works but not as a stage show. Buy the cd. Enjoy it and you can become passionate about it and that is all you can do. It's not a broadway cd. It's an ALBUM.

I just cannot enjoy men screaming their highest notes for 2 hours. That is not music to my ears.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Yes, it's Frank Wildhorn at his best (which is really saying something)

Its probably one of the top cast recordings I bought this season.
"Why do you care what people might say? Why try to fit into their design?" (Side Show)

I have not seen CHANGING CAROLINE, but I do not like it so far. I will see it anyway because of Capthia Jenkins and see what I think.

As long as we're back to THE CIVIL WAR again let me say that as far as music CIVIL WAR is beyond so many shows like this but only in the way of music. As far as book and performances, CHANGING CAROLINE is probably beyond CIVIL WAR.

I think CHANGING CAROLINE is the prequel to CAROLINE, OR CHANGE where Caroline is a wee infant. The conceit is how her being restricted to diapers made her the way she is. Mama wouldn't change her diaper regularly, thus she was constantly "underwater". When she finally breaks free of her diaper, her lil "moon" sings a hell of an 11 o'clock number.
It would have run in repertory with C,OC, but critics found it to be stalled, festered, idle, laborious, and a complete waste of time.
