re: Carrie

The only video in existence is of the first act only. There are audio bootlegs floating around of the workshop, Stratford and Broadway performances.

I think the book and score are pretty good. Both could use some work, but have a lot of strong material. Carrie's downfall was mostly in its staging. The direction and design were horribly misconceived and the audience and critics just couldn't get past the visuals of the production. After looking at my souvenir program, I can see why.

re: Carrie

Could someone please send me a link to any of the aforementioned recordings? Thanks!
But I won't live alone in a house of regret.

Actually, robbiej, Ludovico was a character in Othello (and another Shakespeare play if I remember correctly). He probably played the character at one point and made it into his SN.

re: Carrie

I have spoken to (literally) 250 people who said they would get me bootlegs and scripts from this show. But, just as I was about to set up a deal, they did the dirty on me and ran. I sent emails to them, you name it, but they just disappeared. I am so totally angry and upset that this show continues to elude me. All I have are the Midis from Musical World and etc.

re: Carrie

If you're in NYC, the Lincoln Center Library has 15 minutes of the show (the press reel) on tape that you can watch. It's the entire opening number, the entire first act finale, part of "Don't Waste The Moon," and part of "I'm Not Alone," along with some interviews. It's the best footage that exists of CARRIE. (The bootleg first act tape that's floating around is nearly unwatchable).

re: Carrie

Hi Quasi:

I believe it is from the Braodway showing of it that didn't last very long. Unfortunately, I don't think I have the workshop cd anymore.
