I am going to eiter buy The Last Five Years or Passion (1997 London Cast) tommorrow which one should I get?

Well, it's a brilliant score. Very underrated, in my opinion. It's very understated, melodious, and, yes, passionate...Sondheim has described the score as one continuous love song. There are no breaks, which heightens one's anticipation, anxiety...There's no room for release until the very end.
The 1997 London cast album is fantastic: Michael Ball, Maria Friedman, Helen Hobson.
I don't know what else to say. I know many Sondheim purists aren't too fond of this score, but, personally, I think it's some of his best work.
