i went to see chicage several months ago i figured i would get tickets the same day. i decided to go on a wednesday but when i got down there it turned out there were no wednseday shows. a few months later i was down in time square and thought i would go see it, this time it was on a monday. but when i went to the theatre it turned out they were closed on mondays now and open on wednesdays. so i have yet to see it but hopefully the next time i go they will actually have a show that day...

The "dark on wednesdays" is the winter schedule. The "dark on Mondays" is the summer schedule. It can get confusing and sometimes even *I* forget.

The yummerful eye candy also known as the ever talented Brent Barrett will begin June 3rd as Billy Flynn. A new, undisclosable (at the moment) Velma will begin on June 8th. Melanie Griffith will replace the incomprable Tracy Shayne as Roxie Hart on July 11th. Camille Saviola will replace Angie Stone in the role of Mama Morton June 10th.

So aside from Chicago being awesome and you now being addicted, what did you think? Details, Andrew... DETAILS!

Damn right she's great! I love hearing that people enjoyed her performance!!!

Don't know yet what Trace is doing after Chicago... she doesn't end till July 10th (and yes, yes I already have a ticket; 2nd row center, thankyouverymuch! lol) -- but it will be posted on her site as soon as I know what's in line next!

Hi,yes Chicago is a good musical and a cash cow for the producers and employment for a lot of theatre people-- I saw the 1975 show and liked it also,however,the 1996 show is so much better in my opinion-- the movie didn't hurt either!The singers in the movie version are not remotely beter singers than any of the many singers that have been the theatre show-- So Brent Barret is haveing a go for the 3rd.time!I like Brent and have his version of Kiss Me Kate-- nice to have the show on dvd-- Is he a better singer than Anthony Warlow?? Absolutely not!!

I already don't like Melanie as an onscreen actress... needless to say I won't be spending a lot of my time at the Ambassador this summer... Someone find me a new show!!!! :)

Re: Stardom's post... I beg to differ. While the movie was good, I would NOT go so far as to say that the leads singing was better than that of the leads in the Broadway company. With the exception of a few (and I emphasise few) actors and actresses, I find the singing on Broadway to be far superior. Imho, the broadway production being so minimal allows you to focus on the talent within the cast... and what a talented cast they are indeed :) (I think that was what you were getting at... though your whole post was like one big run on sentance, so I'm not really quite sure what you were trying to say)

Thanks, CJR, for the info. I'm a little surprised that they haven't begun to promo this show. There have been MANY ads about Phantom coming back to the Bay Area for a 2-week run (or however long it is). I need to check my piggy bank to see if it will allow me to purchase tix for Chicago!

By the way-- do you know of Anthony Warlow? he is a real theatre singer--
