CHICAGO - closing or transferring?

I heard a rumor that the revival of EVITA would open in the Adelphi in May 2006.

Does anyone know what will happen to CHICAGO? Will it transfer to another theatre (I hope so!) or will it close?

I just looked at the london section of broadway.com and it says all tickets, even group, are only on sale thru febuary 25 or 18th or somewhere around there. so....could be...

Closes 22nd April 2006 at Adelphi, reopens 25th April 2006 at Cambridge

Does anyone know if it's definitely going to be Evita that opens? I heard The Adelphi was one of the theatres Spamalot could possibly open at? Hell, it's in a such a good place near Charring Cross etc ...

The Adelphi is almost certainly ear marked for Evita. It's rumoured that Spamalot has been investigating the Palace on Cambridge Circus - an even more high-profile house (though also tough to fill). At one point there was talk of Spamalot going into the Palladium, but it seems that it'll be filled by The Sound of Music after Sinatra finishes it's limited run.

Spamalot opens at The Palace this autumn and kicks out The woman in white which will tour the UK

Sound of Music indeed will open up at The Palladium after Sinatra! Opens December 2006

Chicago starts performances at The Cambridge Theatre April 25th and closes at The Adelphi April 22nd. Evita opens at The Adelphi June.
