CHORUS LINE finale - more mirrors than original production?

On the Good Morning America broadcast they were showing clips filmed in the theatre and during the finale the periactoids along the upstage wall turned and there also appeared to be additional mirrors turning stage-left and stage-right. Was that an illusion or has Robin Wagner added those to the revival?

There are indeed more mirrors. I don't care for them.

In the original production, did the back design light up and blink?

I don't recall.

No. The finale panels didn't light up in the original. And the panels didn't have any black on them.

Oh okay, I didn't know what black you were referring to.

And I know you saw it, morosco, but if anyone hasn't seen the Nightline footage of A CHORUS LINE, it's on the site that cannot be named. It perfectly shows how slow the opening number is.
