Going to take an 8 and 11 year old into NYC for some fun. Want to try for the Matilda lottery, but I need a plan B that does not include Dave & Busters (ugh).
Thinking that Cinderella rush has not been too popular of late. I've got a college i.d. for myself but the limit is one ticket per i.d. Would they sell at the student rush rate to the little ones?
They did not when I rushed the show in the spring- it was college students only. A lady in front tried to get one with her daughter's school i.d and the lady working there refused to take it, even after the mother got an attitude about it. The lady said "If we sold rush to all the kids that come in here, we would make no money." Things may have changed since though.
It probably also depends on what show you are seeing and who is at the box office. The rules don't really outline a specific age; however, it totally makes sense that they would only accept college IDs. Like darreyl102 said, how could they make money? Parents with multiple kids would start taking advantage of getting cheap tickets.
When I waited for rush the girl in front of me was with her mother and grandmother, but she was the only one with a student ID and the Box Office Guy sold her 3 student rush tickets and they were the last three. Had he followed the policy my friend and I would have gotten tickets.

I went in June with my college ID (for a sunday mat) and I was able to get two tickets at student rush, one for me and one for my 12 year old brother.

From their website: "Students with a valid college student ID may purchase one ticket for $32."
Not all box office attendants follow the policy to the letter, but technically, yes, the policy DOES, in fact, limit the rush to college students.
