Posted: 2/25/05 at 6:16pmI actually have never thought of it as Sally and Cliff's story either. It is the story of Berlin in 1930 and the many aspects of that era are portrayed through all the characters, who are all conected by the club, which is the emcee. So, I think the emcee is the star. He is a better overall representation of the show than Cliff, and really embodies the story. Cliff is a character and the emcee is a symbol.
