So, I just got back from seeing Cabaret. It was really, really good, Adam Pascal really fit the role of the emcee, and I definitley prefer him in that role over Radames (Aida) or Roger (RENT). Susan Egan was amazing too. I just couldn't figure this part out- at the end, when Cliff is on the train, and he all of a sudden leaves when it shows Sally up above him, does he go back to her? I couldn't quite figure that out.

Cliff doesn't go back to Sally. Or atleast as far as I know. I think he's just running off to basically run away from Berlin in general. Plus, they needed to get Cliff off the stage for the finale.
I think Cliff goes back to America and showing Sally is like a "final farewell" to Berlin.
Cliff certainly does not go back to Sally - nor does she follow him to Paris. When he is on the train he begins to write what will become his book on his experiences and Sally (as well as the other characters) appears in his mind as he is writing.
