I am trying to decide which section to purchase tickets in. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I still want to be able to see everything with no obstructions. Does anyone have any advice? I was looking online and it said that the dress circle isn't the best place because it is under the loge and balcony. I have never been to this theater before and want to make the experience special. Thanks in advance.
The Dress Circle is in the very back of the theatre and under an overhang. Loge is excellent and even the balcony isn't too bad.

Ok thanks Mister Matt. That's what I thought. Do you think that the left center loge would be good?
It will be great. You won't be disappointed. I also think you get excellent sound in the Loge. Like in the Oriental Theatre, the voices can get dropped in the front Orchestra if you're sitting too close.

I wrote a Yelp review on this very subject a while back! http://www.yelp.com/biz/cadillac-palace-chicago?hrid=u33pI-WFtPom55PIkkmwGA
I've seen a couple of shows on the cheap at the Cadillac Palace and have always sat on the side Dress Circle. Bottom line: If you're considering the side Dress Circle, don't sit any closer than Row GG.

The view from the balcony isn't terrible as long as you're not in the very back (I was a couple of rows from the back and missed a couple of this happening waaaay upstage and the taller setpieces). The sound however is really not great up there, so I would recommend closer. Have a good time, it's a beautiful theater!
It was done by the same guys who did the Oriental & Chicago theaters - Rapp & Rapp.
Last time I was there was when it was basically a catering facility for the Bismarck Hotel next door. All the seats from the orchestra had been removed & ugly, unnecessary sound baffels were hung from the ceiling.
It is indeed a beautiful theater.
