On Talkinbroadway.com where they list upcoming releases (my absolute go-to source for new releases, and it should be yours because they're almost always accurate) - has The Capeman being listed as releasing on June 27th on itunes. Is this the version we have already, or is this the famous unreleased recording? Anyone know?

Yes..apparently Paul Simon's decision to only have it on I-Tunes and not do a full pressed and released CD with booklet, notes etc.

We may see more obscure flops released in this fashion.

On the plus side, it will slow down people who have been making and selling CDR copies on e-Bay.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Maybe John Yapp who is concerned that he will lose money releasing One Touch of Venus and Anyone Can Whistle could do this as well? Although I would love to have real recordings, this would be better than just not releasing them at all.

what is the point in telling us that? it doesn't add anything to the thread. Rentboy, you continually to post the most thoughtless, moronic comments/questions. Daily.

iTunes is free to download and set up an account, so its not exactly an exclusive thing.

Finally! I've been waiting years for this. I actually liked the first act of this show. The second act was not as good.

"I've lost everything! Luis, Marty, my baby with Chris, Chris himself, James. All I ever wanted was love." --Sheridan Crane "Passions" ------- "Housework is like bad sex. Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again til the next time company comes."--"Lulu" from "Can't Stop The Music" ----- "When the right doors didn't open for him, he went through the wrong ones" - "Sweet Bird of Youth" ------------ --------- "Passions" is uncancelled! See NBC.com for more info.
