Car Wash the Musical?

well actually i just thought that it would make a fun and entertaining evening of musical theater. i mean they're makin every other film these days. the soundtrack actually has some great tunes. what do you all think of this concept?

For those too young to know, its a film from the 70's with a hot disco/r&b sound track.

I have been hawking this idea for years...and have gotten very low response from the industry, even though many think it's a great idea. One of the biggest obstacles is the issue of "rights." Music rights, orginial screenplay rights, etc. The rights alone could make it cost prohibitive unless there was major, major money behind a production. Also, when I contacted the owner of the screenplay rights, I was told they weren't available...ever. Of course, I don't really believe that, but I think it's such a great idea, I can't believe it hasn't been done and I am going to continue to try.
