Wow today is just a sad day, Carly leaves Hairspray, JLT, Carol and the dreaded Geogre leave Wicked.

I was there! It was bittersweet for me since I feel like I was Carly's first fan, I saw the show when the tour started in Baltimore in 2003 and then in Boston and then Broadway and now today. She was in the best vocal form I have ever heard her and you could tell she was going the extra mile with every song, even taking some notes up in "I Can Hear the Bells" and "Without Love." She was very emotional at the curtain call, and the audience was very enthusiastic throughout. I don't think many knew it was her last show, at the stage door almost everyone murmed "oh this must have been her last show" when she came out with tons of flowers to sign autographs.
I looked for Mr. Shaiman but didn't spot him.
Congratulations Carly on a great run in the show on tour/in NY.

And by the way, Carly is WELL aware of all the garbage people say about her on this board.

I'm not commenting on that. Do you really think that performers don't read these boards? they ALL do (for the most part) or have people who tell them everything.

Well, if the performers don't like what they read/hear, why do they return? It may be unfortunate, but it comes with the territory. You want to be in the public eye, awesome! But don't be surprised when people aren't sweet and kind. It may not be right and it may not be fair, but that's the way it is.

I think it refers to false rumors, etc.

Personally, I have seen Hairspray twice - both times with Carly. Thought she was great.

just know that when you say something hurtful about a performer, it will get back to them.

Let's not make this thread about this anymore, continue the thoughts about the last performance/experiences you may have had seeing Carly in the show.

it was AMAZING..my friends and i just cheered for 2 hours and 40 min. ill miss her alot.
