Yeah, I don't know?! Someone actually came up to me and told me directly no filming, so I stopped. Wasn't obstructing anyone or disruptive in any way... Did you get most of the set? I'll look forward to the rest that you post! :)
GAH these are so good. Thanks for posting these!

Wish I could have seen this. Those videos were great, thanks for sharing them. "Heart of the Dreamer" and "I Have You" are included on Martin & Brickell's second album, So Familiar, which is basically all reworked songs from Bright Star. "Yes She Did" is on Martin & Brickell's first album. As much as I love Edie's voice, Carmen Cusack singing these songs is just incredible.

This happened to my friend and I during one of Lea Salonga's shows. Someone in a suit (manager?) told me no filming but physically reached over to try and push my friend's phone down. We were being discreet about it - not obstructing anyone or being obnoxious.
Was there last night and some girl was obviously filming -- he walked right past her and never said a word.

There's only an announcement not to use flash photography; nothing against taking video.

When I saw Nicolette Robinson I sat ringside and they asked us not to video or take pictures or use our phones at length because the light from the screens would bother those behind us. So it may depend on where you're sitting?
At any rate, seeing Carmen tomorrow and I am SO excited. Avoiding the clips for now because I want to go in fresh. I've even taken a hiatus from the bright star cast recording for awhile because I will appreciate her voice even more after a break. :)

We had a guest appearance from Katie Rose Clarke last Tuesday only and they did "For Good'. But the rest all look familiar/the same. And I thought her 3rd friend's name was "Pelosie" (sp?) but who knows!
I'm dying to hear her version of "Stop" again. She didn't think we'd know it stateside but I think we all knew the song.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

I don't know how Carmen has not been a bigger star. She is phenomenal. This was everything I needed today. I hope we see so so so much more from her.

She seems so sweet and humble. Apparently when they offered her 3 dates at 54 below she responded that she would have to decide which would work best. She said they said "no... We want you to do all three" and she responded that she didn't have that many friends and family.

Apparently the winner of the social media poll for which show she should do next was Parade. After hearing her sing You Don't Know This Man, who is going to make this happen?!?!?!

What a wonderful show. And couple goals: I hope someday someone looks at me the way she and her husband look at each other.

She sang with Edie Brickell tonight as well which was a lot of fun. It did not appear planned. Someone from 54 below informed me that "Paul Simon and his wife" were there. In light of the fact that she wrote a bunch of the songs Carmen sang, they probably should've said Edie Brickell was there with her husband...
I agree 100% with the previous poster. Tonight's show was delightful. Carmen showed amazing vocal versatility throughout the set and the audience LOVED her. I can't wait to see what comes next, and after that, for her

Finally got the rest of my videos from Carmen's Sunday show up on YouTube.  Not sure about the names of some of the songs.  In particular her two originals and some of the cut songs from Bright Star.  If anyone know for certain, please let me know.

Wow thank you for uploading! Her originals are called Shane and Middle Lane. The cut songs are strong is the heart, yes she did, I have you. Not sure about the duet with Jimmy Ray.

UnwoundFantasies, thanks for the info regarding her originals. I've updated my videos to reflect that.
I don't have enough words to properly express how incredible she is, so I really won't even try. Those who had a chance to see this show, you know. Wow, what a singular talent and absolutely gorgeous spirit.
She said she's going to LA (just for a couple months, thankfully) for "a gig." Obviously not theatre-related. Wonder what it is! Television I imagine. So thrilled for her and cannot wait to see what she does next with that indescribable talent.

I think it's called "Heart of the Dreamer", since that's what Edie Brickell called the song on her album. The cut songs were great. It made sense they cut "Yes She Did," but I actually liked the one with Jimmy Ray, although I could see it being superfluous with "Whoa Mama," which is such an awesome fun song (my favorite). More awesome "funness" was what Bright Star was missing for me though. I really wish they kept "I Have You" though. The version Carmen sang is just so emotional, warm, and beautiful.

I'm thinking that was you who switched seats so I could sit with my friends? It was because of where you were sitting. (Thank you for that, by the way!)
I was there on the 9th, and I have to say, it was probably one of my favorite solo performances I've ever been to.

mpkie, Carmen mentions the name of the song she started the show off with at around 3:25 of the video below.  So that's what I'm going with.

Yeah that was me! How funny! I'm glad it worked out. It was strange they didn't let you sit at the table, I don't think anyone else came? I guess because the show was sold out, so they couldn't have known yet. The waiter was really funny cuz he kept sneaking up on people.

And with a hefty jump in ticket prices too! Hot damn, good for her. I'll still shell it out to see her perform but wow prices starting at $65, get it Carmen!
Also, this is the project she's doing in LA for the next couple months. Seems... Interesting?

Good for her! The "For the Record" events are incredibly fun to see and typically very well done. It's definitely a change from what we typically see Carmen in, but exposure of any kind is good.
