Carnegie Hall Seating

I am looking at going to the Pops Stephen Sondheim concert at Carnegie Hall on November 19th. At the moment, only the balcony is available. Could anyone tell me how those seats are? All of the other sections have "Check back later" notes. Does anyone know if it's common for better seats to become available later. My mom wants to go too and she's quite the seat snob. Is it worth it to wait, or should I drag her up to the balcony? Thanks for any input
