Carol Channing will be performing her solo show "The First Eighty Years are the Hardest" in Charlotte May 22 and 23 at the Halton Theatre in Charlotte. Students from the area performing arts school will get to perform along with her. The following article gives a link for tickets, but as of now there is no information posted there.
For anyone interested...I will try to post an update when I find out anything new. My wife is a teacher and the head of the music department at the performing arts school so I will get info from her. I am going to try and see if I can attend the Master Class as well.
FYI..The Halton Theatre is a new theatre built on the campus of Central Piedmont Community College which is located just outside of center city.

I just wanted to follow up with the earlier post and say that I was able to sit in on the master class Carol Channing gave today -- and she was amazing! She definitely still has it. She was very entertaining, told some great stories, and made news fans of all the students who were in attendence. She was also so kind and gracious at the end and posed for pictures with just about everyone!
If anyone is in or going to be in and around Charlotte, NC tonight or tomorrow, here is the information for the two performances of her solo show:
