Ive recently realized I listen to a lot of the same cast recordings. What are some lesser known musicals I should listen to? Im very open-minded!

Waitress, Wicked, Once On This Island, Mean Girls, Hair, Come From Away, The Sound Of Music, Carousel, Fiddler On The Roof...I have a lot

Based on what you like, here's a couple recommendations:

Murder Ballad: Very 90s grunge rock-style sound, with evocative, poetic lyrics reminiscent of Waitress

Twisted: Wicked by way of Aladdin, by Starkid Productions in Chicago. Some very funny satire and a story with real emotional weight

Calvin Berger: Another high school romantic comedy, but with an important message about body positivity and really clever lyrics

Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge: If Once On This Island is a Caribbean retelling of The Little Mermaid, this show is a bluegrass retelling of Playboy of the Western World, with a perfect pastiche of the genre
