Jessica Grove
or for a sexy Ariel, Sara Gettlefinger (she did the sheet trick in "Nine", the flying/swimming should be a cinch for her)

Jodi Benson=goddess...I already know the demo for the show by heart...only blocking and script to learn :)

Didn't they already cast Celia Keenan-Bolger in the role? This is just what I heard, so I'm not entirely sure. I think she'd be ideal.

Celia played the role in the most recent workshop. No cast announcements have been made yet. I agree, Celia would be great in the role, but they might just choose to cast an unknown actor in the role.
There's a lot I am not certain of...

I always thought Celia was a great choice...but I also like the possibility of Ashley Brown and Jessica Grove. I never considered Jenna Leigh Green but now that you mention it, I would love it if she were cast. (She's one of my favorites!) I think Kerry Butler is too old for this role.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Off topic but

Sara Ramirez and Shoshana Bean as Ursula alternating.

Both are powerful, both are "thick" and can play bitch well.

i have to say that ashley brown has the epitome of a disney voice. she is amazing....of course, perhaps i'm biased...we grew up in the same home town, went to the same high school, and i listened to her sing in my church all the time and not only is she a wonderful, amazing performer, she is so humble and the sweetest person. she came in town a couple of months ago. :)

I still think they should go with a not-so-well-known disney star like Analiese Van Der Pol. she can sing and she's got the perfect look. I do not want to see some middle aged woman playing a teenage Ariel.

I triple agree about Kelli and Sherie being amazing, but the wrong choice...

Celia, on the other hand, is a really good idea, but I am attracted to the idea of an unknown as well. I guess I'm lucky that I have NO SAY whatsoever in the matter...:)

I could see them going with an unknown because if there are going to be big names it will probably be as Ursala and Sebastion -coughwaynebradycough-

1. Jenna Leigh Green is NOT horrible. I saw her as Nessa and she was amazing.
2. I'm not sure who should play Ariel but I think that an unkown would definately work.
3. How many movies are Disney going to convert into shows?

Milena Govitch (Good Vibrations) as Ariel? Well, she should be Mary Poppins on Broadway... so i guess we can stick with the AMAZING Ashley Brown. :)

I think Celia or Jenna Leigh Green would be great Ariel's. Right now Im leaning towards Celia because for some reason...I can just picture her in the role more

Ooh, she's pretty good, and she already has the hair and whatnot.

I also think Jenna is a great choice- I saw her in both Wicked and Open House and she did really well.


How many movies are Disney going to convert into shows?
They'll keep going as long as the money keeps rolling in.

I adore Jenna Leigh Green and I think she'd do a really good job... I think Kerry Butler is amazing, and she's great at playing younger parts, so I'd pick her, too :) But I'm not sure if I could pick between the two.. haha.

I'd love Celia to play Ariel(but I am probably one of her biggest fans, so I'm a bit biast)

Sherie and Kelli could possibly play Ariel, but I'm not sure(though as stated already, they are both amazing).

And no one's talked about Scuttle yet. I love the workshop casting of Michael McGrath, but I love him as well.

I have the "On the Record" album and when Ashley Brown sings "Part of your World" I get goosebumps. She'd make an amazing Ariel.
