Posted: 4/13/07 at 8:36amHow many times has Rath called another poster "Rick?" I know I've seen it before somewhere.

As many times as he makes up new screennames. If you have proof it's someone else, let me know. Until then, I'll stay convinced it's him.
But thanks for your ever-useful two cents.

You are seriously underestimating the age of my jokes Rath. :p
Try mid-80s.
#32re: Casting Sally Struthers
Posted: 4/13/07 at 9:10amHa! I thought the commercials were mid-80s, so I was estimating the jokes were old circa '92.

Ha, I thought this thread was going to be about casting the role of Sally in the upcoming Lifetime biopic.
That could be another thread, I guess. "Who would you cast as Sally Struthers?"
Carly Jibson? A little young, perhaps, but she has the right oomph!

Posted: 4/13/07 at 9:20amI haven't seen her, but I've heard she's great. Problem is, Sally was skinny at that age. Won't work.

It occurred to me as I was reading that last post, that Sally has a sex scene with Jack Nicholson in Five Easy Pieces. She was skinny, pert and exciting go watch when she was younger.
As a mature actress, she's dynamic. She was terrific in Whorehouse, but could have used another week's rehearsals in Hello, Dolly. Her Horace was terrible and she had trouble playing off him.

She was quite the little hottie during All In The Family as well.
Pierce, I've never had the pleasure of seeing her live onstage.

Posted: 4/13/07 at 9:44amHow about Scarlett Johansson? She can do ANYTHING! And she would look great in that Gloria Stivik wig and hot pants!

Posted: 4/13/07 at 9:46amHer voice would be completely wrong. Think these ideas through, please, Sueleen.

I just had the scariest thought.
Give Kristen Dunst some 70s hair and you have your perfect young Sally for a Lifetime Biopic.

And I can honestly say, she is one of the nicest people I know. So, I can't bear to watch that episode of SP, because it's just mean and wrong.
In regards to that, I just wanted to say that she is one of the nicest people I've ever met. A little crazy, yes...but certainly nice. Actually, I think she and Jon Peterson are the two sweetest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. Oh...there's a novel idea! Put the two of them in a show! How great would that be.

"A little crazy, yes"
So are we now putting out offers to Lindsay Lohan, Betty Buckley, or Joanne Worley? What kind of "crazy" are we casting?

"WHO IS SHE?!?!"
And with that, the painting over my fireplace just aged another ten years. At least I still look stunning.

Rath, it was not my intention to use the word "crazy" in regards to casting Sally. I was just saying that she is a tad bit crazy (but in a good way) as far as her personality goes. Actually, come to think of it, I think "spontaneous" is more fitting, seeing as how she randomly threw in lines and such during the run of Hello, Dolly!. Anyways, I just think she's a sweet person, and very easy to get along with - that's all.

There was talk of her being a contender for Morrible in the LA company of "Wicked" before BTC went and recycled Carol Kane.
Perhaps Struthers can step into that role once it becomes open in the future?
