Cathy or Jaime? L5Y

This might have been already discussed, but I was wondering: in The Last Five Years what person do you side with? I want to side with Jaime because it seems like he really does love Jaime. But then we're led to think that he's had an affair.
I think overall I side with Cathy.
What do you think?

That's tough. Both are very in to themselves and don't really think of each other. I side with Jamie until "No body needs to know" then I tend to lean towards Cathy because Jamie blames all of the problems on Cathy when it was really a little bit of both.

I've wondered if it depends on how the material is presented. If the story was reversed and it began with Cathy at the beginning of the relationship and Jaime at the end, would you side differently with the characters? I keep meaning to play the CD backwards, but haven't found the time yet.
