Posted: 2/15/06 at 10:24amlong live Cats! woo lol, we did cats with my old drama school (it wasnt really serious or anything) but it was sooo much fun and we had a workshop with someone from the west end who showed how to behave on stage like a cat (this was like 3 years ago!)

Jimny, about ten million people disagree with you.
And triplethreat, I'm sure Mr Conner would have your hide for that post. Have they forgotten to teach the students English at that school?

They are trying to hype up the show with promo's for the 25th anniversary.. I still have no desire to see it.. I turned down working on a regional production of this show recently..

you're pretty fortunate if you have the luxury of turning down shows just because you don't like them.
Unless you turned it down for other reasons.

Posted: 2/15/06 at 12:25pmI'm in production for another show right now anyway. I've been pretty lucky in that respect.

Posted: 2/15/06 at 12:26pmJust because millions would disagree with me, it doesn't mean it's good. "Pink Panther" was the number one movie in America last weekend. "Wicked" is a big hit. "Arrested Development" was a great TV show. Of course not enough people watched it so it got low ratings and was replaced by "Skating With Celebrities" which was watched by millions. I don't believe the latter is a quality show. I still hate "Cats" but I understand others love it. I loved plenty of shows others hated so it's just a matter of personal taste.

Posted: 2/15/06 at 12:35pmA nearby community theatre is opening the first U.S. amateur production of CATS next week. (Well, the first legitiamte, LEGAL amateur production). They have added a dozen or so "kittens" (children)to the cast. I dread the thought of it.

Posted: 2/15/06 at 3:04pmCheck out the anniversary DVD. It's got a disc of special features, including interviews with Cameron Mackintosh, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gillian Lynne, a makeup demo (you get to see three actors from the London production undergo the transformations into Skimbleshanks, Jemima and Munkustrap) and a making-of for the video. Very cool.

Cats is amazing!
The solo part that Victoria does with all the slow movements, I get to do that in a dance this year!
re: Cats#17
Posted: 2/16/06 at 3:23pmHow do you know which cat is which? I mean, some of them are named, yeah, i.e. Jennyanydots, the Rum Tum Tugger. But how do you know who's Victoria or Demeter?

Posted: 2/16/06 at 4:47pmI think this might be the absolute best show I will have ever had the pleasure of seeing. It was my first b'way show and I still think it should be open. What a tragedy the youth of NY will not be able to experience what I did along with millions more... nothing like seeing it in the Winter Garden.
