Cats! C'mon, it's score is to die for, as is the lighting and choreography, so I've heard.

Waitress is hardly generic.  It deals with heavy topics presented in a very moving and entertaining fashion. Jessie Mueller is incredible as well.  Cats is about......cats.

You can deal with these issues and still be bland and generic. There is nothing special in the musical. There's way more to Cats than the title

I'd go with Cats. I saw Waitress in May, yeah it deals with heavy topics but I found it presented in a bland and boring manner. The only reason I didn't leave at intermission was Jessie Mueller, she does have some pipes!
